About us
How it began
Windows Music Academy was launched in 2020 as a Community Interest Company. Originally located within the iconic music retailer J G Windows, it has provided professional musical instrument tuition for the people of the North East for 5 years. Following the closure of the store, a new home has been found in Newcastle City Centre at St Andrew's church, Gallowgate, where we continue to offer lessons to both complete beginners and aspiring players.

Music for everyone
"Music for everyone" was the motto at JG Windows Ltd., and we continue to hold the same sentiment at Windows Music Academy. As a Community Interest Company we are committed to reinvesting our profit back into the community with one simple mission; to offer free access to music tuition to those that cannot afford to learn. Across our region there are thousands of children and young people who simply cannot afford to pay for lessons or buy an instrument. Playing music offers so much more than just learning a skill. It boosts confidence and mental health, social skills and academic achievement. We will support as many people as we can to take their first steps to becoming a musician.
